Unlock the screen lock security pattern (Troubleshooting for all Android phones)

Unlock the screen lock security pattern (Troubleshooting for all Android phones)

There are a lot of ways to lock your Android phone so as not to let other people access your phone (slide, face unlock, pattern, pin and password).

The screen lock security pattern is the best way to unlock your phone as you can unlock it fast with just a swipe on the screen. It is also good against thieves.

The pattern will not return the lost phone to the owner, but the thieves will not have access to your personal files and contacts. So please lock your phones.

But what happens when you forget the security pattern you put on the phone? We will help you unlock it.

Difficulty: Medium
Android device used: Google Nexus 4
Android version: Android 4.2

Steps

1. After you failed 5 times to swipe the correct security pattern, the device locks itself and you have to wait 30 seconds to try again.

2. Wait for 30 seconds before trying again

3. If you don’t remember the pattern you could try unlocking the phone with your Gmail account

4. Press the Forgot Pattern button (down – right)

5. Write your email and password and press ok (the phone must be connected to the internet).

6. If the phone is connected online, then the phone unlocks. If not, your only option is to reset the phone to the factory settings.

To get a phone back to the factory settings, you have to press the right buttons and follow the procedure.

In the following pages, you can find how to reset your phone back to factory settings according to the model of your phone.

Just choose your phone from the following pages and follow the instructions.

hmmm 3 days too late to be an april fool.. I thought everyone knew this was the least secure way to lock your phone as your fingers leave the pattern on the screen for thieves to simply retrace with their even greasier fingers.

You are so right! So pattern is not secure but it’s easy to use and a lot of people is using it. The best is the password with letters and numbers but it takes too long each time to unlock your phone. Personally i have nothing, i just keep my phone very close to me (front pocket of my pants or inside pocket of my jacket) and never take it out when on public transport.

Hi! Is your phone connected to the net? You can reset your gmail password from your PC and then enter email and password and easy unlock it. If you cannot, try the hard button reset as described in rule three.

you cannot connect to the net now to unlock the device so you have two options now:
      Option 1. Remember the pattern
Options 2. Factory reset the phone using the buttons. Unfortunately all data will be lost. We added the how to guide in the other phones section.

Hi! When the mobile phone is turned off, press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down keys together. Next to that, when holding these, press and release the Power key (keep holding the volume keys). The mobile phone should be turned on and a menu will be displayed. Press the Volume down key to navigate to the Recovery option. Press the Volume Up to select (if that doesn’t function, use the Power key to select). A yellow triangle and an Android logo will be displayed. Press the Volume Down and Volume Up key together and a recovery menu should be displayed. Use the Volume keys to move to the Wipe data/Factory reset option and Next to that, press Power to select. Again, use the Volume Down key to select Yes and press the Power key again to select.
