LG Optimus G: 14 reasons to buy and 8 not to buy LG Optimus G

8 reasons NOT to buy LG Optimus G

No microSD card: This trend is really annoying. I don’t like phones that will not let you open the back side of the phone. So LG Optimus G is one of them. There is no microSD memory slot. So you have to watch out your included memory of 32GB.

No battery replacement options: The same as above. No access to the batter and the slim design is not an excuse. Samsung Galaxy S4 which is slimmer let’s you take the battery off. The problem here is on the glass design, LG as well as Sony and HTC have found no way to let you access the battery on their premium phones.

Not so strong 13MP camera: The 13MP camera makes no difference with the 8MP camera of Nexus 4. Although the difference in MP is huge (13MP to 8MP is like 8MP to 3MP) the real difference is not that impressive.

Older Android version: LG Optimus G started with Android 4.1 and we don’t know when it will be updated to the next version. Even if it updated to Android 4.2 (which has little difference to Android 4.1), it is almost unlikely that it will be updated further more to next Android versions.

Design (weight): Glass phones are heavy. With 146 grams, LG Optimus G is one of the heaviest phones of the category along with Sony Xperia Z. Glass and metal (on HTC One) make the phones heavier (compared to LG Optimus L9 which is made of plastic, has the same 4.7 inch screen and weights only 125 grams).

Screen (sunlight): The screen is great but when you are in the sun you can see nothing. You have to guess the menu to find what you are searching for. This is almost the same for all LCD and LED phones but here the problem is a big bigger.

Browser: The flash is fast but it does not support Flash. There is also Chrome on that phone but I never understood why there should be 2 browsers preinstalled on a single phone.
