LG Optimus G: 14 reasons to buy and 8 not to buy LG Optimus G

7 MORE reasons to buy LG Optimus G

Q slide apps: Q Slide is the on way to have multiple apps running on your screen. Although you have to choose from a bunch of apps LG proposes, this mode will make your life easier. Some of the Q Slide apps are the video player, the browser, memo, calendar and calculator. You can open then on your screen and combine them with all other apps. So you can open Facebook chat and Q Slide video and watch a video while talking to your friends. Or watch a video and take notes at the same time.

Shortcuts on notification bar: I love it when smartphones have shortcuts on the notification bar. LG Optimus G gives you access to all basic (and not so basic controls) from the notification bar. You can also edit which shortcuts will be on the notification bar and their order. There are also some options like the brightness and you can access the Q Slide apps too. This notification bar is really helpful and you don’t loose time searching in the menus.

Video player & video editor: The video player of the phone has a lot of extras. This player is between Q Slide apps and this is not the only reason I love it. It can also play mp4, mov, mkv etc files. There are also other players that can do that but this player is already pre installed and can play a lot of formats. There is also a video editor app to make some simple edits on your videos.

NFC tags: NFC is not so popular yet but in the next months a lot of apps will use it. NFC can be combined with NFC tags that are attached to other stuff and will be useful if used correctly. Although today NFC is not so useful, it will be on the next months so it’s an advantage to have it on your phone.

Task manager widget: This widget can be installed on your screen and tell you how many MB are free on your RAM. LG Oprimus G has 2GB of RAM and you can see a beautiful graph of how many of them are free. You can also clear RAM and all that by your screen.

Wi-Fi Direct: With Wi-Fi direct you can send your files or photos to other devices. Using the Wi-Fi network you send photos to another phone which used the same app. You can do the same with Dropbox but it’s more complicated. This app makes your life easier. Sharing was never that easy.

Apps: LG Optimus G has a lot of pre installed apps. Some of them can be found on Google Play but it’s better to have them on your phone. There is a dictionary, an app that will give you for free a dictionary (big choice of languages). File Manager, FileShare, Radio, Memo, Notebook, Quick Translator, Video Editor, SoundHound, are they enough?
