Google Nexus 4 review: 8 reasons to buy Google Nexus 4

The parents of Nexus 4 is Google and LG. This is not a simple smartphone, this is the default Android 4.2 smartphone Google wants other companies to follow. We love it. Pure Android, pure power.

It’s an impressive device made by glass (front and back) with really powerful specs.

8 reasons to buy it

Wonderful design
I love glass. Nexus 4 was glass in front and glass on the back and I like it. You can tell it’s a premium smartphone, not a cheap plastic device. I am worried of the glass, if the phone falls down, it’s broken. I know it has Gorilla Glass but i don’t know if it’s durable enough. So i bought a case.

Bright screen
The screen is big and bright. 4.7 inches with True HD-IPS technology and 319ppi. It’s great for videos, photos, browsing the net. If it’s sunny in your country, there is a little problem but not bigger than other LCD devices.

Android 4.2
This is pure Android 4.2. No modifications, no extra useless widgets, just what Google programmers created. I like it. It’s fast and accurate. On the other side i can tell some modifications are missing. For example on the notifications bar there is no shortcut for the Wi-Fi or the bluetooth. I liked that on Samsung Galaxy S3 and Sony Xperia Z, i missed it on my Nexus.

Great camera
The 8MP camera is great, i like the photos and the videos but most i love the way you can take videos and photos together. Just start rolling the video recorder and press the screen of the phone to take photos at the same time. That’s great. I needed the option to take photos from videos I have already recorded as I can do it on HTC One. I don’t like the panorama and 360 modes of the camera, they are not perfect, poor results. I like the camera, it’s fast.

Quad core adrenaline
Quad core processor and 2GB of RAM is very good for all Android apps. I love quad core phones even If I don’t do quad core stuff daily. But i think you need a quad core phone to browse the net as you do it fast.

It’s a phone
The contacts on the phone look beautiful. You can see your VIPS and the numbers you call frequently on the same screen. I love the SMS too. Minimalistic and beautiful. This is a phone after all.

Google play for long play
The reason I don’t move to other phones as Windows Phone, is the apps. In Google Play you can find everything and mostly they are free. On the iPhone you have to pay. Google Playe is the reason Android is so popular.

The price
Cheaper than most of the other quad core phones, it’s really a reason to buy. After all why pay more for the other phones? To get apps you will never use?

What I missed

– More options on the notification bar. I want to access my Wi-Fi from there.

– No LTE supported. If you buy a quad core superphone, you want it to be with you in the next era of connectivity.

– Sound problems. I think the ringtones are pretty low. I missed a lot of calls already. With vibration it’s better but still you can hear the phone ringing.
